Nicaragua Missions Trips

If you are looking for a place to take a short-term mission, Nicaragua might be just the place. It is ideal for an individual, family, team or a combined mission/vacation. Depending on the flight time, the mission begins the moment you land in Managua. It is a long day of travel and you will quickly find out that the days are hard but so rewarding.

The location, duration and purpose of the mission will determine the extent of travel and lodging. Meals are included in the package, although you may want to bring a few of your favorite snacks. We normally take at least one day to visit the markets and/or volcanoes. We can arrange for a private or semi-private translator to accompany you so you can get the best deals at the markets. Translators, meals and entrance fees on the ‘off’ days are not included in the package but are very reasonable.

Special immunizations are not required, but just like the US, a current tetanus is recommended. It is normally hot but a windbreaker, portable fan, small umbrella, sunscreen and bug spray may be useful depending upon the dates of your trip. The time zone is CST (making it the same as the Midwest) from Sept-March but the US is one hour ahead during Daylight Savings Time.

The cost of the trip is normally $100 per day if you are staying in a hotel. It includes a shared room, bottled water, meals, in country transportation & a translator. It also includes supplies needed for your mission such as rice, candy, food and Bibles. We are happy to help you with fundraising ideas.
